There are matters the Registrar does not deal with, but frequently receives enquiries about. These are set out here, with information on who may be able to help you.

 

Dealer plates

If you are a motor vehicle trader and have a query regarding dealer plates, Land Transport New Zealand is the responsible agency.  You can contact them at online, call 0800 822 422 or email info@nzta.govt.nz.

 

Business tax

If you are new to the business of motor vehicle trading and are not sure about taxation requirements when selling motor vehicles, please contact Inland Revenue, who offer information on business taxation queries.  Visit them at their website or call 0800 377 774.
